About This Work
The paintings in the ‘Open’ series refer to the idea of ‘reopening’ that dominated throughout the pandemic. “When can we reopen and return to normal life?” was the question everyone wanted answered. These works respond to that fixation, and they use the Apple keyboard shortcut for ‘open’ (⌘ + O) as both a visual reference and a metaphor for freedom and the desire to move on.
