About This Work
I've always loved the phrase This Must Be the Place, for some reason it gives me a comforting and cosy feeling. To me it’s not about ‘arriving’ or a final destination, it’s more like the feeling of realising that you're exactly where you're meant to be. In this triptych, the words are underlined and finished with a full stop to give it more emphasis, and there’s a vibration in the letters that gives a sense of anticipation and excitement, like the little flutter you get when something important clicks.
I keep coming back to this phrase because it reminds me that we spend so much time searching for the right place, the right path or the right version of ourselves, that we sometimes lose track of where we are right now. This place, this journey, this moment in time, this could be the place…
