(Ever Failed) No Matter, 2026
Kate Lambe is an Irish-born artist based in Melbourne, Australia. Her practice spans painting, photography and design, and explores the relationship between language, pattern and visual structure. Using custom lettering and repeated geometric forms, Kate creates layered compositions where words shift from text into abstraction, allowing meaning to emerge through systems, rhythm and colour.
Kate has exhibited widely across Australia and internationally, including solo exhibitions in Dublin, Stockholm and Melbourne. In recent years her painting practice has been recognised through finalist selections in the MAVA Art Prize (2026) and the Omnia Art Prize (2022), and through participation in the Buena Vista Artist Residency in Apollo Bay, Victoria.
Before focusing primarily on painting, Kate developed a strong photography practice and was recognised as one of Australia’s Top Emerging Documentary Photographers in both 2010 and 2011.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Design (Visual Communications) from the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dublin, along with further qualifications in photography, screen & media, graphic design and visual arts from institutions in Melbourne. Her work is held in private collections across Australia, Europe and the United States. She currently lives and works on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.
