A Lexicon Of Form

A Lexicon Of Form is a body of work that uses words as something that can both be read, and as something that can be built with. Using a typographic system I created, I separate, repeat and layer phrases until they form dense, interwoven compositions. The text loses its legibility, and instead, composition becomes the mothod in which the ideas within the work are delivered, using colour and rhythm as punctuation.

These paintings capture the tension between order and chaos, where meaning comes from the systems, patterns and connections that hold the words together.
