A Lexicon Of Form
A Lexicon Of Form is a body of work that uses language as something to not only be read, but also as something to be built with. Using a typographic system I created, I fragment, repeat and layer words until they form dense, interwoven compositions. As the text loses its legibility, it begins to function instead as a framework for pattern, movement and visual relationships. Composition becomes a way of reinforcing the ideas within the work, using colour, rhythm and density to echo the underlying message.
These works explore the tension between order and chaos, where meaning comes not only from the words themselves, but also from the systems, tessellations and connections that hold them together.
