A Lexicon Of Form
A Lexicon Of Form is a body of work that uses words as something that can be both read, and as something that can be built with. Using a geometric typeface I created, I separate, repeat and layer phrases until they form dense, interwoven compositions. The text loses its legibility, and composition becomes the way in which the ideas are delivered, with colour and rhythm acting as punctuation.
These paintings look at the tension between order and chaos, where meaning comes from the systems and patterns that hold the words together.
